Our results from this season! Thank you all!

Well, another Winslowshire has come and gone.   The weather forecast for Saturday wasn’t so great, but what people don’t understand is that Winslow is a magical place.  I can’t explain it.  Every year, (or since we’ve been doing this festival there) the forecasters always say Rain or Thunderstorms, BUT it doesn’t rain there!  (Well, not while we have the festival anyways).

The Norton Patch came out http://norton.patch.com/articles/a-faire-weekend-for-winslow-farm(yes, that’s me being interviewed) and our new pals from Geeky and Cheeky

were featured (they are the ones that have those adorable puppets!)  Sunday was much better weather and in turn we ended up with many more people/patrons/customers that came to see us and hopefully enjoy themselves.
We did want to apologize for the bus services (sorry, we didn’t realize that it wasn’t so great) and for having no ATM on site, but sometimes, these are things that are not in our control.
However, we DO want to thank all of you who came to see us, Thank all of our vendors (new and returning), our amazingly talented performers and of course all of our hard working cast and crew!
The farm raised a little over $8,500 plus pet food donated to the farm which I know they appreciate.

A Third year for Winslowshire 2010

I can’t even believe that 2009 is over!  Wow, that went by fast!  We already do have dates set up for the last weekend in June of 2010 for Winslowshire and the website is slowly growing all over again…we do have some new people coming in, but I can’t divulge just yet!  (I do want to keep you all on your toes)

In the meantime, I can write about more of what we had happen last year (June) and say THANK YOU for all that have supported us in a big way!  I would also like to say a BIG THANKS to the following people that make Winslowshire possible!

My good friend Joyce Morin Strong from http://www.goboston.com has helped us in so many ways by putting an article out and then using Twitter (I’m on Twitter too, as @giazzpet), helping post on Facebook and other places as well, so if you are in need of tickets for any event in Boston, MA or anywhere in New England for that matter, do check her out!  She also is in charge of http://www.cheaptickets.com – great deals!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Debra White of Winslow Farm http://www.winslowfarm.com for without her, we would have no faire!

Also, I would like to give a shout out to http://www.nerennies.net to say thanks for letting me post on your site, it really did help us get to the numbers we were looking for, and hope we can post again for this coming June.

Thanks to all of our Crew and Volunteers, for without them, we would really be up um, well, a creek….or be in the mud…so thanks gang, you know who you are.

Thanks to our new friends, who I will blog about in more current posts, and thanks if you voted for our little faire on http://www.renaissancefestivalmusic.com I hope we can win something for this year..hope hope hope…

Happy New Year everyone!  Stay safe for 2010 and hope we see you in JUNE!

Resa Nelson – Author of Dragonslayer’s Sword

We were so fortunate to have our first author (local one at that) to sell her books (and signed copies too) at Winslowshire!  She is putting out a new book and soon!
She is currently selling her book on her website, and now also at King Richard’s Faire in Carver, MA.  She is a really nice person and I heard that the book is a really good read too.
Author Resa Nelson sold her novel, The Dragonslayer’s Sword, at Winslowshire for the first time this year.  If you didn’t have a chance to meet her (or if there’s someone on your holiday list who likes fantasy novels), check out her special 1-day promotion.  Anyone who buys her novel from Amazon.com on October 13 will get lots of free gifts from Resa.  Go to www.resanelson.com and look for the link to her special promotion page.
Go now to check out http://www.amazon.com and find The Dragonslayer’s Sword and buy it today!
