Foxboro Founders Day, June 11th and countdown starts now!

Our very beginning ;)  This is a picture of myself (I’m the one with the flute) and my husband (who goes by Bumbly Phinn) who started Winslowshire in 2008.  Back then, we had only 16 vendors and 10 performers.  We grew into something more the next year though.

This is a picture from last year.  As you can see, we grew into a real Renaissance Festival.

We will be marching in Foxboro, MA for Founders Day on June 11th at 10 am, so if you live in the local area, we hope you can come out to support us!

We have some new vendors that are coming to Winslowshire this year:

We do hope you can come this year.  The dates will be June 25th and 26th of 2011 from 11 am to 5 pm.  Make sure you don’t miss out on all the fun!  Hope to see you there!

Holiday ideas with Winslowshire Vendors – part II

As you may or may not know, Winslowshire Festival for the Animals had 45 or so vendors last June, and I hope to get to all of them, but for now, here is another list of some ideas that you can get for you or your loved ones for the Holiday season!

1) Antika Nueva ( has some unique and wonderful jewelry (all hand made) as well as some great soap (my personal favorite is the Chocolate and Roses, smells so good) and some great goo (yes, goo, trust me it is wonderful stuff! I believe she has an Etsy site so you can probably shop on line and you can get it in time for the Holiday season!

2) If you have someone in your family that likes ink on their bodies (and no, this is not for the wee ones), Art Gecko Tattoos has Gift Certificates so that can fit nicely into any stocking!

3) Wulfemoon Studios has some great artwork available on tote-bags, post cards, little pictures and regular size pictures of fairy art and more!

4) Our pals at Diddleydeets Scents has some amazing scents and soaps (as well as medieval games too) and they are online at – and I think they just had a sale recently so do check them out!

5) Have a garden or know someone that loves gardening?  I suggest getting in contact with our friends from Cornerstone Creations they have great garden benches, gnomes and mushrooms all made of concrete so it will last them a lifetime!

6) Silver Moon Herbals has some great herbal items for the bath and pampering and they can be found at

7) Now is the time for cloaks!  So many choices for hand painted cloaks from our friends Fairie Tailor or you could find other hand made cloaks (and other items) at Cloak and Dagger (

8) I know that The Stone Lady has some wonderful readings and will be at First Night Rockport in Rockport, MA so if you are in the local area, I highly suggest you come out to meet her and get a reading!

9) Speaking of readings, you can also get another reading from The Artists Muse who also makes little heart packets and does natal charts as well!  So fascinating!

10) Going to a masquerade party?  Need a leather masque?  Look no further than our friends who make wonderful masques called BlackSwann Masques – amazing artisan and craftsman ship that will leave your friends talking about it for months to come!

Don’t forget that some of our performers also have cds for sale and I’m sure that any music lover would love to have one in their stocking or underneath their tree.

Happy Holidays!  I will try to post one more time to be sure I get everyone that vended with us for the 2010 season!

Sneak Peaks for Winslowshire 2010

Ah sneak peaks…kind of like a preview from the movies right?  I think I can keep you still in suspense up until the event, but I think I can give you a few things that have been confirmed for this coming June!

June 26th and 27th are our dates for this year from 11 am to 5 pm per day.  Tickets this year will be $12.00 for adults, and $7.00 for kids.  We’ll have discounts too, such as: $2.00 Off for Veterans that bring a Military ID, $2.00 Off if you come dressed in Renaissance Attire or $2.00 Off if you bring a 5 pound bag of dry pet food (any brand is fine) *just know that we can not combine discounts.

So far, Artist Andy Volpe and Author Resa Nelson is confirmed.  We also know that Antika Nueva will be there and Shaine the Blacksmith is really excited and happy to be coming back…I actually heard he sold out of all of his stock last year!  (Including his last metal hand made stake…).

More confirmed vendors have sent in their things, but I don’t want to give it all away…heh heh…oh but our friend The Bonnie Weaver will be there doing live demonstrations again on how to weave with her loom.

We have some  performers lined up too!  Such as our friend the Dirge Queen, Lady Fair, The Three Graces (oh yes, they did confirm they are coming!), Guy Todd, and Paul Calvo is coming!  We also know that Diabolis in Musica has also confirmed for this year.

We also have confirmed that The Neville Companye is coming back to fight it out again this year!  So exciting!

Well, I don’t want to give it all away, but I hope I’ve given you a sample of what we’ll have going on this year, and hope that you make your plans now to come to Winslowshire Festival for the Animals – Third Year!

Faire Holiday Season – Part Deux

As I mentioned on the last post, since we had so many different vendors, I didn’t want to load all of the information on one post.

Here are 12 more vendors that I hope you can support during this lovely Holiday season that supported Winslowshire last June (and hoping they come back for next year of 2010!)

1. Storied Threads ( has beautifully hand made attire for both men and women; including hats, accessories, embroidery and more.

6.  For those of you who like magical things, you would most want to check out Alchemy who also has some great trim for those of you who are the crafty types

8. For the musicians of the house, you might want to look into Drum And Whistle– wonderful renaissance instruments that you could play today!

9. Do you love fantasy art? You should then check out Fantasy Dimensions – this artist Kirin Stein Heller is a most wondrous and amazingly talented artist!  She starts with one medium and then adds another and another which then makes her art very interesting and lovely.

10. Ravensbeck is a bunch of artisans that co-op together, so I’m sure that they make that would be great as a last minute gift for that someone special

11. Emry’s Fynery has some beautiful hand made jewelry which includes some cameos and other things.

12. Treasures is just a place where you can get some kitschy items for the Pirate lover in all of us.  They don’t have a website for that, but for those of you who like tattoos, you should definitely check out her shop and support her business as she is just a wonderful person and can help you decide on which tattoo you should get!

Okay, that’s it for part deux – more to come hopefully next week!

Get beady with Good Quill Hunting

My good friend Christina does all the amazing bead work from Good Quill Hunting

Her handiwork is by far the best I’ve ever come across and you can tell that it’s quality made beaded jewelry as well as other items.

She even does classes and give a ways on her blog, and loves to help her friends (me) out by helping them with http on their blog (thanks!).  She was the one that helped me put Winslowshire blog up to it’s current status, and for that I am forever grateful!

She and her partner also took lots of photographs for Winslowshire, which we ended up putting up on our site, and boy did they get a lot of great pictures, including one of me with my flute!

She does sell her beaded jewelry and other items on her Etsy page and she does take PayPal on her own site!  She even has a fan page on Facebook!

They will also be at BeadFiesta (that even sounds fun to write) so check them out there too!

Let’s get magical with Alchemy

Alchemy is a merchant that sells ritual things, herbal things and jewelry. Their website is .

Tisha Harris and her husband are both really wonderful people and can answer any question you may have about what they carry.

They not only go to different Renaissance Faires around New England, but they also will ship right to your door!  They even have a gift registry for those of you who are getting married Pagan style or hand fasted…but they carry other items too, such as lovely jewelry and teas.

For those of you who like to sew (um, that would NOT be me) they also have trim available that you can purchase as well, and they do have pictures up on their site, so you can take a look at it for yourselves.

Please do go to their site and tell them Winslowshire sent you.
